Appraising Complex and Stigmatized Residential Properties
Friday, April 14, 2023 (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Instructor Mel Black This course is designed for residential appraisers who want to expand their skills to take on more challenging and complex assignments and those who wish to learn new techniques for developing creative solutions to complex residential appraisal problems. The course begins with an overview of the factors that make a property complex. Unique physical characteristics, nonconformity, and location can make an appraisal assignment challenging. Students are provided with appraisal strategies based on different complexity factors and examples of how these strategies might be applied. Since no two complex properties are the same, the course is designed to teach students a systematic approach to solving the appraisal problem rather than a “one-size-fits-all” solution. Students will apply techniques to real-world case study problems designed to reinforce the learning experience. Registration will begin at 8:45 am. The class will be from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, with one hour for lunch and two scheduled breaks.
NC Appraisal Board approved 7 hrs. of continuing education credits.
